CANCELED – Capital City Plus Level Blast Class

Capital City Plus Level Blast Class Canceled

Hello Everyone,

Following recommendations from health professionals at the federal, regional, and local levels, Capital City Squares has made the difficult decision to cancel its two Blast Classes for Plus level that were scheduled for Sundays, March 15 & 22, 2020.  Please share this information with members of your clubs.  The attached flyer has been revised to indicate the “cancelled” status of the Blast Classes.

This decision is due largely to the fact that our beloved square dance activity requires individuals to be close enough to others which increases greatly the chance of viral spread.  Even if folks have already been exposed elsewhere, increased exposures will increase risk.  We feel it is very important to take precautionary measures where appropriate.  And that means a pause in activities involving gathering in close proximity to others and touching/physical contact.  Allemande left, right & left grand, swing through, etc, etc. are all examples of increased exposure risk (contact with multiple people/possible carriers in succession).  And, we are cognizant that the square dancing community has a high percentage of participants meeting age and chronic condition risk factors that increases the risk of a more severe infection if they are exposed.

We hope to reschedule these Blast Classes eventually when we feel comfortable that it will be safe for the health of our dancing community.

Best regards,

Capital City Squares Board of Directors
